A Family Hike

Last week Bob & I took the kids on a hike up Mt. Rubidoux. It was a beautiful day outside and we needed to work off all of the cookies and pie we had eaten over the holidays. The kids were very excited to go hiking and we had a wonderful time. In my opinion, this is the best time of year to be in California. The weather is in the 70's, it is sunny, and there is a cool breeze. It definitely beats sweating your brains out in the summer when it is 105. Blech! Anyway, here are some pictures of our adventure.

There is a paved path you can walk on to get to the top of the mountain, but our kids wanted none of that. They wanted to climb on the rocks and in the dirt. Here is a shot of them doing just that. Bob took this shot from where we were on the path. They are both pretty fearless, so we kept a close eye on them.

Here they are on the path. I like this shot because of the view in the background. So beautiful!

We stopped to take some posed shots.

Me and my babies. :)

Bob was on camera duty this day so there are no shots of him. :( Here is a shot he got of Audrey and I hoofing it up a hill.

This was a cool tunnel that we found for the first time. The kids were so excited to find this "secret" hiding place.

One of the best things about hiking up Mt. Rubidoux is what you see when you get to the top.

There is an outside amphitheater by the cross and they actually have Easter sunrise services up there every year. We have never made it to one, but I hear they are amazing.

We are hoping to go hiking again very soon since it is so much fun, and it is great exercise. You gotta love it when you can make exercise fun. LOL!

Okay, I'm amazed that you have 70 degrees and sunshine in the winter. We are just over the mountain in the valley and are 48 degrees and fog. Go figure.

Love hiking on sunny winter days though. That place looks AWESOME!
