1)Bible Study Fellowship- The week of September 14th our family returned to BSF. I go on Monday nights, Nathan goes on Tuesday morning with my mother-in-law, and Bob and Audrey go on Tuesday nights. Bob and I are both in leadership so we attend training meetings for our classes on Saturday mornings. We all study the same passage of scripture each week and except for Nathan, we all have a lesson to complete. We are studying the book of John this year and I am already enjoying it very much. It is a big commitment for both Bob and I to serve at BSF, but it is also a tremendous blessing as well. God is always faithful to enable us to serve Him where He calls us and I am looking forward to drawing closer to Jesus as a result.
2)Camping-On September 20th we went camping for a week at Carlsbad State beach. We went with Bob's parents, my sister-in-law Jenny and her 2 kids, and my Mom & Mike. We had a wonderful time and I praise God for the amazing family He has given to me. I put a bunch of photos on Facebook, but here are a couple of my favorites.
3)Couponing-I am continuing to clip coupons and shop sales in order to keep our grocery budget as low as possible. In September I was able to keep our spending under $500. That included everything we bought for our camping trip, so I was very pleased with that number. My goal is still to try and get it around $400 per month. Hopefully in October I can get closer to my goal.
4)School-We took a week off from school when we went camping, but we started back up this week. We were able to get a lot done and I hope to start posting a week in review again next week. Here are a couple shots of what we did the week before we went camping. I planned on posting them before we left, but it didn't happen.
This is Audrey learning the concept of borrowing and carrying in math. Since we have a TON of legos at our house, I decided to use them for something other that building Star Wars space ships. They worked great and she can do the problems now without the legos.
This is a science experiment we did using glitter to represent "germs". Audrey learned why it is necessary to use soap and warm water to get rid of them. With cold and flu season approaching, this was a very timely activity.
This is the notebook page she did for the experiment.
Here are some shots of Nathan doing his school work. He is doing very well, but it is a battle almost everyday to get him started. He would just rather be playing than sitting at the table doing school work. I try and make it as fun as possible for him, and if you look closely you can see I also bribe him with Fruit Loops. ;)
Well, this post is way longer than I intended it to be. Thanks for hanging in there with me. God bless! :)
