Summer Update

The last two weeks have been very full of fun summer activities for our family. It started with me attending the CHEA homeschool convention in Long Beach for 3 days. This was my third year in a row to go and as always I had a wonderful time. It is an annual "girls" weekend with my fellow homeschool moms and this year was even more special because my siter-in-law Jenny came as well. I came home on a Saturday, went to a BBQ as soon as I got home, and then church on Sunday. The next day VBS started at our church. This year I volunteered to help with the games. I had a wonderful time serving and I plan on doing it again next year. The kids had a blast as well, but we were wiped out by the end of the week. We took the weekend off to rest and then headed to the beach last Tuesday to escape the incredible heat we are having. Then on Thursday my Dad came out to visit us for a few days. The kids had not seen him since Christmas so they enjoyed having him stay with us. He went home this morning and we are going to a BBQ at a friend's house this afternoon. Whew!! I am tired just writing that all out. LOL!! I have nothing planned this next week and I am happy about that. I am hoping to start planning and organizing for our upcoming school year. I am just waiting on a few more boxes to arrive and then I will have everything I need to get started next month. Oh, I forgot to mention that the kids start back at Awana tomorrow and they are both very excited. I am glad as well since that is the only activity they have where I don't volunteer, so I can drop them off and have a couple hours to myself.

I was really bad about taking photos of all the fun we have been having, but I made sure to get shots of the kids with Grandpa Eddie. I took these this morning before he left (hence Nathan's bed head). :)
