Last Friday was Audrey's last day of 1st grade. Woo Hoo!! She is now officially a 2nd grader. Man, I feel old. :) We also had an open house last week at our Co-op since we are done for the summer. The kids have been learning about Ancient Egypt for the last 6 weeks and have made some really cool crafts. They had a great time showing off all that they had made to our family. The kids also put on a little show where they lip synced 2 songs. The first one was "Let My People Go" and the other was "Pharaoh, Pharaoh," which is to the tune of the song "Louie, Louie". Audrey had a great time performing, but Nathan refused to participate. I have learned as a mom to pick my battles, so I decided that I was not going to "make" him perform if he didn't want to. Anyway, here is a slideshow I put together from the open house. Enjoy!

Cool!! Great pictures. So I recently found out that kohl helped protect the eyes from the harsh sun bouncing off the desert sand. Napoleon's army should have tried it instead of getting desert blindness.
It would have been the opposite in my family. Ryan would have performed and Lydia refused. LOL.
Did you finish up Singapore 1B? I'm trying to decide whether to make Ryan keep plugging along through the summer (since we started it late) or just let him pick it back up in the fall.
Great pictures! Looks like they had a great time! Thanks for sharing!
Looks like they learned a lot!!!!
Ancients is going to be so much fun next year, I can't wait!
LOVED all their projects! I love seeing all the fun things your co-op does!
Ancient Egypt is so much fun to learn about. Looks like the kids had a great time.
Hey....did you know that CSUSB has a great collection of Egyptian artifacts at their on-site museum? We just went a few weeks ago--neat stuff!
