I Feel Old!

I don't know about you, but there are certain milestones my kiddos hit that make me realize how fast they are growing up. When they were babies I remember looking forward to these milestones in their lives like, sleeping through the night, "going" on the potty, walking instead of riding in a stroller, etc. Now that they do all of these things, I am amazed at how fast time is going by. It also makes me realize that if they are getting older, so am I! Well this week both of the kids hit some "milestones" that I wanted to share.

I will start with Audrey. Yesterday on the way home from our co-op she was eating some carrots in the car, and I noticed she had a puzzled look on her face. After further investigation she realized that one of her bottom teeth was loose. This is the first loose tooth she has had. I know this is normal for a 6 year old, but for some reason it just hit me that she is growing up so fast. I can still remember when she didn't have any teeth at all.

Wasn't she adorable!! I know, I'm biased. :)

Okay, now on to Nathan. The other night we were hanging out while Bob and Audrey were at bible study. I was reading him some books and he told me he wanted to read a book to me. So I got out my Bob Books just to humor him, and he read three of them to me!! He is not even 4 1/2 yet and he can read. I was blown away by how well he could sound out the words, especially since I have not done much formal phonics instruction with him. It just blew my mind to see my little guy sitting there with his Indiana Jones hat, reading to me. I still remember him like this.

Wasn't he the cutest thing?!

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed my trip down memory lane. I am so thankful to God for my children and it is times like these that help me to remember to enjoy every moment I have with them. Thank you Lord for the reminder. :)

I did enjoy your trip down memory lane. I have those same feelings even now. Matthew is 16. Daniel is 13. I was just reminded yesterday of taking them to see Santa Claus, and what an exciting time that was for them. *Sigh* I miss those days.

Sometimes.;)

And your babies are adorable. I just want to smooch their sweet cheeks! So cute!

Ovulating (again) here in Crazyville,
Amy;)

I know exactly what you mean! Just the other day while on our way to the park I looked at my dd on her bicycle with training wheels and I thought about how not long ago I used to have her in the stroller when we went to the park. The realization was bitter sweet. And yes, your kiddos were very adorable babies. BTW, I love the updated look of your blog.
