I thought I would post a few photos to show some of the things we have been doing in school for the past 2 weeks. We are continuing to learn about the pilgrims and all they had to go through to begin a new life here. One of the books we are reading for history is Stories of the Pilgrims, which is a historical fiction book. One story we read was about a mischievous little pilgrim boy named Francis. He almost blew up the Mayflower by playing with a loaded musket below deck. Here is a craft Audrey made showing what happened to Francis.
Here is a drawing I helped Audrey make of Massachusetts showing where Plymouth Bay is.
We are still reading Little House in the Big Woods and Audrey is enjoying it very much. Here is a picture she drew of Laura's house and her house.
In science we did an experiment comparing salt water and fresh water. We put a crayon in fresh water and right away it sank. We then added some salt to the water and put the crayon back in, and we discovered that it floated. We learned that the salt makes the water thick and helps to hold up the crayon. Nathan thought this experiment looked like fun so he decided to join us....bed head and all! :)
Here is Audrey and her experiment. As you can tell, she was in a silly mood on this day.
Well, that's it for now. I hope you enjoyed our school update. God bless!!
