"He is like a shield to me."

On Friday we read Psalm 18:1-6 as part of our Reading about History in Beyond. Verse 2 says "The Lord is my rock and my fort. He is the One who saves me. My God is my rock. I go to Him for safety. He is like a shield to me. He's the power that saves me. He's my place of safety." So the assignment under Artistic Impression was to have the kids make their very own shields. I thought this was very clever, and the kids had a lot of fun with it. This is a photo of the one Audrey made. She decided to draw hearts on hers to show that God protects us and is our shield because He loves us. I was very pleased that she understood the passage and recognized God's love for us.

Here are some pictures of Nathan and his shield. I think he missed the spiritual significance of the project because he told me the drawing he made was of the Haunted Mansion ride at Disneyland. Oh well, at least one of them got it. :)

Here is Audrey showing off her shield in true warrior fashion. I think she has seen "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" one too many times.

So cute!:)I love those hearts all over her sheild! So girly and loved!:)

I love the different ways that boys and girls typically approach an art project or a spiritual one.:)

My son Matthew has always been very studious and serious when it comes to all school/spiritual lessons.....However, when my son Daniel was smaller and we would pick him up from Sunday school, his Sunday school lesson would always be in the shape of a paper airplane.;)
