Audrey's New Best Friend

For the past several weeks Audrey has created a tight bond with our 15 year old cat Spaz. This may not sound like a big deal to some of you, but let me give you some background on our kitty. When Bob got her as a kitten she would race around the room and bounce off the furniture like a cartoon character, for no apparent reason. That is how she got her name. When I met Bob she used to hide in the bushes and pounce on people, dogs, and other cats, again...for no apparent reason. She has always been a skittish cat and not over friendly either. When Audrey and Nathan arrived she wanted nothing to do with them and pretty much became an outside cat. She was fine to live in the garage or on the roof with not a lot of human contact. Well about 6 months ago she started wanting to come in the house and be around us more. Eventually she began to let the kids pet her and would even curl up next to them on the couch. Audrey was absolutely thrilled by her behavior and they have come to be good friends. Now Spaz lays with Audrey on her bed while she falls asleep, and she will sit on the back of the couch and watch her doing her school work.

I was looking at some old photos yesterday on the computer and I came across this one from when Audrey was a baby. You can tell by the look on Spaz's face that she was not too thrilled with the whole situation.

As you can see, Spaz has come a long way and Audrey is growing up way too fast.

Once Snap Dragon started to mature and be able to "read" our cats body language, they became great pals. Our Dixie will curl up and sleep with Snap Dragon. Dora sleeps with Buttercup. Cats are great pets (most of the time).

That is so sweet! And look at your little baby! You are right when you say she is growing up way too fast!
My "baby" turned 13 while I was away on my trip, and my oldest turns 16 this month.....Where does the time go?

Your kitty shows that there is hope for all of the people in our lives to change with time.:) God is full of surprises like that.

God Bless,
Amy:)
