Audrey & Awana

About 3 weeks ago Audrey was invited to Awana by her good friend Garrett. I had thought about signing her up at the beginning of the school year, but I did not want to over extend myself in our first year of homeschooling. So I decided that BSF and Co-op would be enough activities for us for the time being. Bob and I decided to let Audrey go with Garrett so he could get a green jewel, and to see if it would be something she would be interested in for next year. She ended up loving it and told us that she wanted to go back the next week. We told her we would talk about it and she proceeded to remind me everyday that she wanted to go to Awana on Sunday. After looking into it I discovered that this Awana Club was going to be ending in the last week of April. We decided that we would let her go for a few weeks since she enjoyed it so much and then officially sign her up in the fall. To our surprise Audrey did all she needed to do to begin working on her first book after the second week. They gave me an extra book they had and I worked on a couple verses with her over the last week. When I went to pick her up yesterday she had said her verses and was given her very own vest, bag, and book. She was so excited and could not wait to get home to show her Daddy. Bob and I are very proud of her and plan on signing her and Nathan up when they begin again in July. I just wanted to share my proud Mommy moment with you!

P.S. The balloon is one of the things she bought with her Awana bucks that she earned.

We have really enjoyed Awanas this year. I love the memorization program and the constant reinforcement & review. I'm glad to hear Audrey is enjoying it!!

Good for her!

I would love to get my kids into Awana...except that they are already in so much already, and I am trying to cut BACK on activities.

Thanks again for all of your help about the beginning reading info!

Blessings,
Michelle

I think Awanas made be one of the activities I sign them up for in the fall :-) We normally don't do a sport then and it sounds like a lot of fun! She looks like she had a blast!

I am so glad Audrey enjoyed Awanas. Taleah started cubbies at age 3 and finished 2 yrs of taht book and then we had to switch churches when she started Sparks. The time didn't work out well for our schedule this year. It really is amazing how much they learn at this age.
