Bible/History:
We completed Unit 17 in Little Hearts for His Glory which focused on Jesus' last days on earth. We read about His death, resurrection, ascension, and pentacost. Audrey's memory verse this week was Matthew 18:20 "For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them." She was able to recite it to me from memory this morning.
Math:
We just started book 2 of Horizons K. We are working on addition and skip counting. I only have Audrey write some of the work, and the rest we do orally.
Phonics/Reading:
I am currently using First Reader (FR) and Explode The Code (ETC) to teach her to read. We are almost done with book one of ETC and will begin book two next week. Audrey was able to read this page from FR with very little help.
Handwriting:
Audrey just completed lesson 33 in A Reason for Handwriting. This is her least favorite subject, but she is doing very well. She does enjoy coloring the picture on the back of the worksheet.
Science:
Audrey loves animals, so we go to the library and I ask her which animals she would like to learn about. Then we find books on those animals and I read them to her while she colors. I go online and find a coloring sheet for each animal and then it goes in her science notebook. This week we learned about cheetahs and leopards.
