Well, today was our first official day of homeschooling. We have been "playing
school" over the summer, but today we began using our Kindergarten curriclum. I am using Little Hearts for His Glory which includes: Singapore Math, Rod and Staff workbooks, Christian Light Education for History and Science and a Reason for Handwriting. I am also using First Reader, Phonics Pathways, and Explode the Code for reading instruction, and supplimenting with Horizons K Math. It sounds like a lot, but we were done with the academic stuff in under an hour. The rest of the school day we spent doing read-alounds, painting, reading bible stories, and playing with blocks. We even made a trip to the library in the afternoon after the kids had quiet time in their rooms. We had a great first day and both of the kids were very excited to begin. We started our day off with the pledge of alligence and marching around the house with flags singing God Bless America. It was so cute! I wish I had taken a picture, maybe I will tomorrow. I am so thankful that Audrey is excited to be homeschooled and that God has given me the opportunity to raise and educate my choldren in the ways of the Lord. I am truly blessed and praise God for all He has given me.
