Today the kids and I went on a field trip to the local museum with our homeschool group. They had an educational program that taught the kids all about life in the 1880's. They saw how laundry was done, how food was prepared, what toys the kids played with, and demonstrations of tools from that era. All of the demos included hands on activities for the kids to try. A lot of what we saw reminded us of the way Laura Ingalls Wilder lived in Little House in the Big Woods. Even though we read that book a few months ago, it came to life today for Audrey.
After the program was over we walked around the rest of the museum and had a wonderful time. I put together a slideshow of our day. Enjoy! :)

That looks like so much fun! I am fascinated with the "pioneer" times. When I come for a visit, will you take me there?;) I would love to try my hand at washing clothes that way. Makes me so thankful for my "machine." Amen?;)
