Audrey's 6th Birthday

We had a great time celebrating Audrey's 6th birthday this past weekend. Even though her birthday was on Sunday, we baked her a cake on Saturday and sang "Happy Birthday" to her. Here is a shot of her while we were singing to her.

The fact that she is smiling is huge because this is the first year she let us sing to her since she was 2 years old. For some reason she hated being sung to on her birthday when she was younger, so we didn't. She has even been known to cry when someone else was being sung to. It's weird, I know, I'm just happy she seems to have outgrown it. :)

On Sunday after church we took her to eat lunch at her favorite restaurant......

In-N-Out Burger............YUM!!!!

For those of you that are not familiar with In-N-Out, let me just say that they have the best burgers in the whole world. If you are ever on the west coast you HAVE to try it. Trust me....you won't be disappointed.

If you don't believe me you can take Nathan's word for it. He loves eating there as well, and he ate every last bite of this burger he is holding.

After lunch we took her to the Rain Forest Cafe to pick out a stuffed animal. As I have said before, Audrey is a stuffed animal "junkie". She already has WAY more than she needs and refuses to part with any of them. As a rule we don't buy her any more, but since it was her birthday we made an exception. She picked out this panther and fell instantly in love with it.

After our trip to the Rain Forest we came back home and Grandma and Pa gave her their gift. Here she is reading the silly "knock, knock joke" card that Pa picked out for her.

As you can see, she was very pleased with what they got for her.

Audrey finished her special day by going to Awana where her class sang Happy Birthday to her. Overall she had a wonderful birthday, but the celebrating is not quite over yet. We are planning to go to Disneyland next Sunday after church as well to celebrate her turning 6. You can keep your eye out for a post about that next week. God bless!
