L.A. County Fair

Today the kids and I went to the L.A. County Fair for a field trip. They had never been before, and I had not been for over 10 years. Because we went with our ISP, we all got in for free which was a great deal considering it costs $17 to get in. That's just crazy!!! Anyway, the kids had a great time looking at all of the animals and kids exhibits they had. Here are some photos from our day. Enjoy!!

These baby pigs were just too cute.

Audrey got a kick out of this barn since we read Charlotte's Web last year. You can't see it in the photo, but they had a pretend spiders web in the doorway and a cute little pink pig sleeping in the barn.

Nathan loved these wooden photo spots. He had to stop at each one and stick his head in it.

Audrey was so thrilled with all of the farm animals we saw. Since we live in a suburban area, we don't see them very often.

My little farmer boy :)

We got to watch a demonstration on how dairy farmers milk their cows. It is amazing that they can get between 7 and 10 gallons of milk a day from each cow. They can do in 10 minutes what it took Pa Ingalls hours to do. (Yes, I am a closet Little House fan)

"You are my sunshine, my only sunshine......"

This alligator was Audrey's favorite animal that we saw all day.

There was a kids exploration area that had these blocks for the kids to build things. They both had a great time building a fort together until some obnoxious boys came and knocked it down.

I refused to pay $5 a pop for the kids to go on one of the rickety, germ ridden carnival rides that are an accident waiting to happen. They were kind of disappointed by this so I told them instead I would by them ice cream. So $8 later they each had a smile on their face.

Well that is our trip in a nutshell. I have a few more photos from the fair that I want to share with all of you in Blogland, but I will save them for another post. God bless!

Looks like fun!
(My boys and I loved Charlotte's Web too...Sigh....We all 3 got choked up by it. I think that it is the sweetest children's story ever written. I'm just saying.);)

I am a Little House fan too....I loved the episodes with Almanzo and Laura falling in love....Sigh...

The cow milking is neat too. I took the boys to a Mennonite Dairy Farm not to far from Crazyville, and I couldn't believe how much and how fast the milk came out with the industrial strength breast pumps.;)They let everybody taste some milk afterwards, but my boys weren't too keen on drinking it straight from the "udder" if you know what I mean.;)

I love the sunshine picture with Nathan too. Very cute!:)

I'm glad you and your babies had so much fun; days like that really remind you of what a blessing it is to be able to homeschool them.

God Bless,
Amy:)

That looks like so much fun! My gang would have loved to see the cows. I had to do a double take with the pig pic. I thought it was some heavy relations going on for a minute. LOL
