Today we officially started our 2008/2009 school year. Audrey is in 1st grade and Nathan will be doing some preschool and some tagging along with what Audrey is doing. This year I am using
Beyond Little Hearts for His Glory with Audrey which incorporates Bible, History, Science, Math, Read-Alouds, and much more. It is a God honoring program and it is pretty much open and go. I used this same publisher last year, which is
Heart of Dakota, and I loved it. Beyond is a wonderful program and I think Audrey is going to have a great time learning this year. You can check out the side bar of my blog to see what else we will be using.
Anyway, back to our first day.....it went very well. This was an answer to prayer for me and I'm so thankful to God. Audrey seemed to enjoy all of the activities we did, and Nathan was actually more into school than I thought he would be. I felt kinda bad because I didn't have a whole lot planned for him. I guess I will have to be better prepared tomorrow. :)
Here are some photos I took of our morning. God bless!

Nathan is practicing counting using legos.

Audrey is working on her Singapore math.

To celebrate our first day of school I bought the kids some ice cream. Yum!!

Congratulations on a good first day! I said a prayer this morning for all the first day homeschoolers. I LOVE the look of HOD. If I was starting from the beginning I would def use it. We used the Reason For Curr. and really like it too.
Hope you have a great year!
Yay! Looks like fun!
We ended up going out and getting ice cream anyways...lol..nothing better for a sore throat :D
Can't wait to start sharing and reading week in reviews again!
Ditto to everything that Mia said.;)
It is such a good feeling to get started off on a positive note...I am praying for that here myself. We will probably start August 25.
I love Nathan's ice cream picture...It looks like it was a very good (and yummy) day for him.:)
God Bless,
Amy:)
Congrats on your first day!
We will be using "Little Hands' this year. I'm super excited to get started, too! ( The kids...not so much...LOL!)
