Co-op Water Olympics

Today was the last day of our Co-op for the year and we celebrated by having our own Olympic Games. In honor of the Olympic Games this summer, the kids have been learning about the Olympics and some of the countries that will be participating in them. They have made flags and crafts from 12 different countries and practiced a different Olympic event each week. We started the day off with an opening ceremony in which each child got to hold a flag from one of the countries they learned about while the Olympic theme song was playing. They then got to show off what they learned by competing in long distance running, sprinting, long jump, shot put, marksmanship, and relay racing. We incorporated water in as many of these events as we could to make it more fun. During our closing ceremonies ribbons were passed out to the winners, and every child went home with a gold medal. We concluded our Games by singing our national anthem. It was a wonderful day and the kids had a blast. I am so thankful for the awesome group of Moms that God has placed in my life to help put our Co-op on. It is a huge blessing in our life and I am looking forward to what God will do next year.

Here is Audrey competing in the marksmanship event. She ended up coming in first place.

This is Audrey competing in the relay race. Her team came in first place.

This is both of the teams that competed in the relay race.

Here are the kids playing in the water after the games were all over.

Nathan is showing me his gold medal. The pre-schoolers did not compete, but they got medals as well.
